Who Can Appear For CTET Exam?

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test is one of the competitive exams conducted by the Central Board Secondary Education (CBSE) for getting teaching jobs in government schools from Class I to Class VIII in India.

CTET is taken by a lakhs of candidates every year. The exam is conducted twice in a year. Qualifying the CTET exam is of great help as it opens the gateway to apply for teaching positions in all the schools of the country.

CTET Eligibility 

To appear for the CTET exam, candidates are required to meet requirements set by CBSE. The minimum age to appear for the CTET examination is 18 years. Fulfilling the educational qualification is not sufficient to get a CTET certificate, you would need to qualify the exam by scoring the cut off marks in it. Qualifications for Classes I-V:

For primary stage (Paper-I) Candidates should have Senior Secondary, or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and pass or appear in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (or) Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).

Qualifications for Classes VI-VIII:

Elementary Stage (Paper-II) Graduation and passing appear in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. (or) Graduation with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
